The Burlington Board of Health provides tuberculosis (TB) screenings by means of a skin test (TST). TB screenings are conducted free of charge and are offered for Burlington residents only. A need for testing was determined through frequent phone calls and residential inquiries for information on obtaining tuberculosis screening.
Appointments are needed prior to testing. The test is complete after two appointments. The initial first appointment is to "plant" or place the skin test and then a follow up appointment to "read" the results within 48 to 72 hours of the initial "plant". Attendance at the follow up appointment is mandatory within the 48 to 72 hour time frame for reading and documenting accurate results. The Burlington Board of Health will retain TST records for one year only.
Please call 781-270-1955 to schedule TST appointments and/or to answer any additional questions.
