Club 50

Burlington Club 50Burlington Club 50 was established in 2004, for Burlington residents ages 50 and above. The purpose of the Club is to keep the body and mind occupied. All activities stress the concept of enjoying what you're doing.

It is a no pressure atmosphere and the need to be skilled at the game does not apply. What is important is that you enjoy the game. For more specific information regarding activities the Club has to offer, please review the provided activity flyers. or email us at burlclub50@gmail.com

Bicycling

Bicycle on the Bruce Freeman and Minute Man Trails while enjoying nature and the company of bike enthusiasts, and then relax at a nearby restaurant for lunch.

Our first ride this spring will be held on Sunday, April 25th.  We will meet at the Parks and Recreation Department at 3 pm and depart from there. Bike routes will vary in length from 5 to 10 miles or longer. Come join the fun!

Bocce

Our bocce program meets on Wednesdays at 9 am on the bocce courts at the Recreation Center.  The first day of bocce this spring is scheduled for June 16.

Golf

Burlington Club 50 started 15 years ago with several local residents wanting to play golf together. Today the Club plays from April to October at both Tewksbury Country Club and King Rail Golf courses.  Tuesdays we have a reserved tee time at King Rail in Lynnfield starting at 7:30 am.   On Wednesdays, our reserved tee time is at Tewksbury Country Club starting at 9 am.  Join us for one or both days!

Want to join? The Club will match you with another twosome or threesome and you’ll be on the course in no time.

Hiking

Our first hike this spring will be held on Saturday, April 24.  Join us at Horn Pond at 9 am as we hike some wonderful, easy to intermediate local hiking trails within 10 miles of Burlington. All hikes will be 3 miles or less. Hiking shoes are recommended.

This is a fun opportunity to get out in nature and get some exercise. Tell your friends and bring them along!

Pickleball

Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation! The sport is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong played by four people on a badminton size court with paddles and a plastic polyball. It is great exercise, easy to learn and lots of fun.

Burlington Club 50 offers Pickleball indoors at the Parks and Recreation Department gym from October through April on Saturdays from 4 to 6 pm The format is open play with a mix of advanced beginner to intermediate level players.

Tennis

Are you a beginner in tennis looking to learn the game or, are you an established player and want to improve upon your basic skill level? Club 50 may be just right for you.

We are an informal group who are looking to get some exercise, meet people, learn, or just have fun. Depending on the size of the group, we will hold drills in order to polish certain strokes, discuss winning strategies, and play games.

All you need is a tennis racquet, comfortable tennis shoes, and a good attitude.
