New Lawn Water Exemptions

New lawn exemptions are given in April, May, September, and October.

Please complete the New Lawn Exemption form. We will review your submission and get back to you as soon as possible.

Though the DPW does not issue formal letters for lawn exemptions anymore, we still like to make a note on the account of those who are establishing a new lawn. Please call or email to be added to the list: 781-270-1670 or DPW@Burlington.org.

If you are granted an exemption, you will be able to water every day during these months but must still avoid watering between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

The DPW will not give exemptions in the peak watering months of June, July, and August.

Regardless of this exemption, you are still responsible for paying for all water that goes through your meter.
